Talya was a bastard, plain and simple, and the descriptor meant absolutely nothing to her. From the day she was born she had been told she was a bastard - the product of an affair between a Loveridge gypsy and a married Russian officer.
She had learned to expect the unexpected. Adapt. But, when she came back from exercising one of the Loveridge race horses to see a pair of pristine looking Hispano-Suiza K6's parked next to the caravan, she didn't know what was coming.
Less than a day later she was seated at a wedding of people she had only vaguely heard about, surrounded by a family that she had only just met.
She didn't like them, she wanted nothing to do with them, and stood in front of the church of a god she didn't believe in, in a pair of uncomfortable heels, ready to attend the wedding of people she didn't know, she wanted nothing more than to be back atop one of Loveridge families horses galloping through a field.

The Peaky Blinders were the infamous gang who earned their respect through the fear of the people. With the blades sewn into their flat caps and the weapons tucked into their jackets, people bowed their heads when passing them in the streets. You were considered lucky to have not had a run in with any of the three elder Shelby brothers. Arthur was the eldest. He was known for his fighting. You would often find him in the ring against somebody who was not his size. He went mad during the war and his return was nothing hit a relief for his mind. But when thinking he had finally escaped the war, one had started in his head. Arthur Shelby was his own enemy. Thomas was the second eldest - the most feared. He had a head for business and more common sense than his older brother. He had icy eyes which very rarely softened at the sight of anything. He was known for his trait of being unmerciful and careless. Despite being the second eldest, he was the brother who held the power. The brother who controlled the rest of them. John was the youngest of the three and arguably the softest. With his wonky smile and cheeky remarks, many of the girls in Small Heath found themselves falling at his feet. He would often find himself in trouble for acting childish. He didn't care too much for the business of the gang. He cared for the respect it brought their name. He enjoyed the thrill. And then you had John's twin sister - Francesca. Known for being one of the only Shelby siblings who seemed to laugh at Thomas. Her sister, Ada, being exactly the same. Francesca found that her brothers were ridiculous - too big for their boots as she'd say. Though she liked to use their name to get herself out of trouble. Francesca was often reckless and lacked the awareness one needed for the streets they lived in. She was her mother's daug

Although she shared the same brunette locks as her sister Ada and the same blue eyes as her brother Tommy, she did not share the same attitudes. Francesca was an anxious girl. And that only worsened when her brothers left for war. Her second eldest brother, Tommy, was a God in her eyes. She idolised him. Why? Nobody knew. But there was something about him. And for her.. Tommy loved her like she was his own daughter. They had a bond not even the strongest of men could destroy. They were cut from the same cloth. 𝐀𝐅𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐖𝐀𝐑, - Francesca finds that her closest and only friend, George, a boy who came from the richer side of Birmingham, had returned from the countryside. He was the type of boy all the girls would fawn over. Golden hair and blue eyes. Except, he didn't care for any of them. He cared for his best friend: Francesca Shelby. Or - Frances, as he called her. He was her only friend. Being older and, well, liked by most, he found it was his duty to look after her during such a hostile time. But they seemed to be blind to the fact that they were more than friends. In some way, they were more. They didn't know it but everybody else did.

THE WILDEST OF THEM ALL - a Peaky Blinders fanfiction IN WHICH all sorts of things happen, at home and outside, every day, but Darcy doesn't recall having ever thought that in the life she had there was particularly bad. Life was like that, that's all, she grew up with the duty to make it difficult for others before they made it difficult for her. Little devil, they called her. The wild, Italian half sister of the Shelby siblings, blessed with the beauty of her mother, cursed with the wickedness of her father. She was a wildfire, a force of nature that couldn't be contained or tamed. And just like wildfire, she was unpredictable, sometimes spreading warmth and light, other times, leaving destruction in her path. But despite the chaos she brought, there was a raw beauty to her wild nature. She was a force of change, a reminder to all that some are born to be Shelby. Darcy was. And no one dared to say otherwise. She was a girl who blazed her own trail, and in doing so, set the world on fire with her passion and unapologetic authenticity. Darcy was desire itself consumed in pure madness, lost in vain, a prodigal existence yearning for freedom, the kind that the Shelby family couldn't give. A kind of freedom she would take and live.
