➿just as it was, baby; before the Otherness came➿

It is months before the Giant War, and Nico di Angelo is doing his level best to summon Bianca, to bring her back while Thanatos is, apparently, indisposed. There's just one problem: he can't get to her. What he does get, however, are two very confused ghosts named James and Lily Potter.

Two years later, they ask him a favor: keep their son safe. Fortunately for them, Hades is more than amenable to send his son off to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. After all, he can't trust those mortals to destroy the Horcruxes of Tom Riddle unaided. And so Nico di Angelo, along with his boyfriend Will Solace and his unlikely friend Clarisse la Rue, journey to Hogwarts to aid in Voldemort's downfall... as best they can, anyway, with a pesky pre-existing prophecy getting in the way.

Oh, and of course, one prophecy isn't enough. That would be just too easy, wouldn't it?

62 parts Complete
Nico di Angelo is finally happy. He's learning to accept himself for his sexuality and as a son of Hades. After everything horrible that has happened to him, he's slowly getting better with the help of Will and his friends. Will Solace finally got the boy of his dreams. The boy he had a crush on since he was 11 years old. He's starting to realize that he isn't as useless as he thinks he is, and that he's actually worth something. Everything is going great for a while. But just like it always is for demigods, nothing good ever lasts. The death of Nico's first and closest friend Jason Grace puts a sudden end to the sunshine that currently brightens Nico's life for once. His death triggers a lot of things for him, and shines light on a lot of his unresolved trauma. Will Nico be able to make it through this without his mental stability completely breaking once and for all? Will Nico be able to let people in enough to help him get through it? And what about the mysterious dreams that Nico keeps having of his mom? And who really is this little girl that knows nothing about her past? In this sequel to Out of the Shadows, Nico sees familiar faces and revisits past places, but at least this time he has Will along for the ride. Spoilers for basically every Percy Jackson book, including Tower of Nero. ⚠️ Trigger Warning ⚠️ death, homophobia, mental health issues that includes but not limited to PTSD and depression, heavy angst later on, brief harassment and brief physical violence (someone gets slapped once). Thank you so much, Selene (aka @riptide2406) for all of the help! I couldn't have done this without you! Everyone, go check out her page and follow her! She's super cool, and one of the very best friends I have on here! All character, world and basically everything rights goes to the amazing Rick Troll Riordan, except for the plot points I made and the characters I created. Art credits to unknown artist, please tell me if you know who made it.

What if... (A Nico di Angelo story)

7 parts Ongoing

What if Nyx got Nico as Will, Bob, Small Bob and Nico were in the boat? What if Nico hadn't swore on the River Styx? It's been 2 years since Will and Nico ventured down to Tarturas, and today is the anniversary of that day. Will never left Camp Half-Blood. He's been waiting for Nico to somehow rise from the ground and and say "I'm back with more trauma!" or something like that. People have gotten concerned about Will; he's been distant, and easily agitated when someone mentions something bad about Nico. Percy and Annabeth knew what happened, but they hadn't said anything to anyone about it other than the remaining seven, although no one was brave enough to mention it around Reyna. The seven recommend Will take a break, relax, maybe even visit with Nico's parents, but he refused, not wanting to be so close to Tarturas where he might jump in to find a possible dead Nico. Even Hades and Persephone have been acting weird, much to the God's confusion. The dead have been rising at random times at both camps, causing people to become suspicious. But one day, a very cold and rainy day, a group of skeletons run to Camp Jupiter and Half-blood, relaying one message: "A demigod has rose from the darkness." I do not own Rick Riordan's work, nor his characters. This takes place after The Sun and The Star, so I recommend reading it before this so you understand.
