The Sanctuaries were lost to time, the Sages that once ruled them too. But now eight children rise up each from a different race with Vandara the orphaned daughter of a criminal at the lead. They are the only ones who can reopen the Sanctuaries to stop Shadow from spreading evil among the Kingdom of Plaxani. Can they overcome the prejudices they hold about one another to save the very people who placed those stereotypes on them? Sages and Sanctuaries is my current fantasy work in progress. The themes are equality and overcoming discrimination. This is only a demo of the first chapter. Looking for feedback!

Lumen

Being human isn’t always so easy, especially in a world of Lumen. Sage, like most teenagers suffers from an identity crisis, and being a human raised by vampires doesn't really help her case. She doesn't fit in anywhere, and the mystery surrounding her birth parents plagues her everyday thoughts. She studies of the days when humans could roam freely. But now, Tergum, as humans are now called, are trapped in the middle of a war between Lumen, vampires with a pure heart, and Acerbus, vampires of darkness. She didn’t ask to be different she just was, and even though most Lumen didn’t like her, she managed to make a couple friends, Mae, a shifter, and Ecko, a Lumen in line for the throne. With only a couple of weeks left until her 18th birthday, when Lumen can no longer protect her Sage is faced to make a decision, endanger the lives of all the people she grew up with and loves, or leave them behind for good. Join her on this gut-wrenching journey to find Gibbon, rumored to be the only place where Tergum still reign freely.
