The Sanctuaries were lost to time, the Sages that once ruled them too. But now eight children rise up each from a different race with Vandara the orphaned daughter of a criminal at the lead. They are the only ones who can reopen the Sanctuaries to stop Shadow from spreading evil among the Kingdom of Plaxani. Can they overcome the prejudices they hold about one another to save the very people who placed those stereotypes on them?
Sages and Sanctuaries is my current fantasy work in progress. The themes are equality and overcoming discrimination. This is only a demo of the first chapter. Looking for feedback!

Never in my life did I ever think I'd be reincarnated. As far as I'm aware, being able to reincarnate means being good in your previous life, and being given a chance to restart your life anew. Although I don't consider myself particularly good, I'm not bad either. I simply existed somewhere in between. Regardless, I never expected to wake up inside a fantasy novel! And not just any novel, but a "dark romance", as my sister would call it. The kind with an obsessive male lead willing to go to any lengths to protect his delicate, soft-spoken heroine.
