Nightshade was a powerful dragon that lived next to a small kingdom called Evernia. For years, he ignored humanity and remained secluded in his mountain cave. In return, humanity avoided him and left him to his hermit-like seclusion.
However, fate was cruel to them. Due to a great tragedy, a soldier arrived at the great poison dragon's home with the infant princess of Evernia in his dying arms. He begged Nightshade to take care of her.
With great consideration, he accepted and took the child under his wings.
