Coming to the 'new world' frightened Elise somewhat, but she was forced to come here as a scapegoat for her 'King and Countrymen'.
They had chanced upon the Isles some thirty years prior and all attempts at establishing peace with the natives seemed to fail.
At the tender age of eighteen, Elise Forglow, youngest daughter to the King and Queen Forglow of Glanz Mainland, was being offered up to the natives as a bribe.
What the natives were going to do to her when they receive her, remains a mystery.
But this was, in fact, a solution for her parents to attempt to kill two birds with one stone. Elise, even though born and bred in the royal court and high society, has never been able to conform to be the perfect princess her parents desired.
