When everything you know turns out to be a lie, you'll do anything to survive.. Remember the monsters that you feared as kids? The ones who lurked in the shadows. The ones who hide under your bed. You tried to tell your parents but they didn't believe you. They simply never saw them. It was almost as if they were blind. They never noticed all the creatures around them now did they? The fairies you saw while taking a casual stroll, the mermaids you saw in the sea. They just never saw them... Maybe they were actually incapable of seeing them. What if, there was a mist that filtered their eyes from seeing the creatures. What about those friends of yours who grew up too fast. Those friends who could no longer see the creatures. Those friends, those siblings that bullied you when you told them what you saw. What if their vision was also blocked from seeing the creatures. It's called 'the sight'. When a person reaches a certain mental level, the sight is removed from them. They no longer see whats right in front of their noses. But you are different. Those beings are still around you. Guiding you. You still hear their voices. They are the ones who whisper the answers in your ear. They are the ones who give you those nightmares. They are also the ones that make you feel safe when scared, happy when sad, calm when angry. Our leaders are afraid of those with the sight. As they possess a danger towards them. They are the ones who are gonna make the changes. You see, they possess a power. With the sight, you have full access to our parallel world. A world of magic and creatures. If the sight isn't taken away from someone and they continue to explore the realm, they develop powers. Powers beyond understanding. Ever heard of those who suddenly disappear? Yeah, those people have the sight. It's either that they finally found safety in the magical realm, or got taken down by our leaders. You must always hide your sight young one.. Watch out, and trust no one...

They say what's in the past keep it in the past but I wanted to know all about my past. It was things that I didn't know and that I wanted and needed to know! But my life turned upside down when my past is exactly what I should have left alone. Now if you ask me how it all began, I don't exactly remember but I know it started when I moved in with my grandma who I haven't met in all my twenty years of living. I have been in and out of foster homes since I can remember, living with families I knew nothing about. Being the outcast and them constantly asking me what's wrong because I simply did not speak. The only thing that kept me sane was my good grades throughout school. I got the satisfaction of doing the one thing that people kept telling me over and over I couldn't do. I stayed to myself and graduated high school with honors, getting a full-ride scholarship to any college of my choice. Of course, by having this accomplishment, it didn't make it any easier for me between my foster families. To them, I became the girl who was better than them. But I didn't care because when I turned twenty I finally got to start making my own choices. This is where I wonder if the first choice I made was the right one. The first choice I made was to go live off-campus with my grandmother during my first semester in college. I ask myself how could I be so stupid? But you will see just how stupid I was. Or was I?
