It's always in the character of a killer to return to the scene of the crime. In the case of William Afton, however, his attempt to reanimate the power of remnant infused metal ends with disaster as his old murder suit crushes him to death.
Yet 30 years later, the killer known only as the Purple Guy returns, this time with a dirty, golden secret, and as the mascot of the horror themed Fazbear Fright.

(This story is almost 100% headcanon based. I apologize if you are not happy with my interpretation, but at the same time I'm not.)
