An Avatar: The Last Airbender Fanfiction (Zuko X OC)

At this, the student frowned and looked up at her teacher. "How can that be free?"
The beautiful woman smiled, but it didn't reach her eyes like it usually did. It was a sad smile. "You will learn it all eventually, little one. For now, we must practice your footwork."
Mentored from youth by the most notorious entertainer in all of Fire Nation, Chiyo is destined to follow her path to greatness. However during the time of war and chaos, she must decide: Should she do what is right? Should she do as her mentor had always done? Or should she follow her heart?
I do not own any of the characters except for the OCs I've introduced. I do not own the pictures used in the cover and those to be used in reference to future chapters. Any historical details I impart on this story is not entirely accurate and is based only on my limited knowledge of the subject.

It is a time of prosperity for most, but the crimes commited during the war couldn't be reversed. Benders were taken away from their families, people were slaughtered, their belongings, homes and land taken away. This, had been the instance when it came to the northwest part of the Earth Kingdom, that had went on to become the Fire Nation colonies. The people of the Fire Nation and the Earth Kingdom lived on in the land that was given to them and gradually, they became one. They collaborated and cooperated in order to live and so they got richer, learnt to depend on each other for their survival. By the end of the war, the people, even though they came from different backgrounds, were one.
