Roman has a problem. As the only black person among the remaining colonists, he is different from everyone else. Yet, he too is a human being with feelings. When the lovely Kimberly catches his eyes, Roman turns to Porter for advice about love. The psychologist provides great advice that ultimately helps the black teenager immensely in his pursuit of Kimberly. Now, Roman feels obligated to return a favor to Porter. What will Porter ask for? Will Roman be able set aside his duty as an enforcer and do so? "Favor" is a romance short story based on Hugh Howey's "Half Way Home," and introduces two new characters in this fan fiction.
