ALEX is a pessimist. With good reason. His whole life has consisted of grief, pain and hardship, including occasional glimmers of happiness. But when happiness comes, it quickly fades, leaving an empty void in its place. Alex knows this, and he won't be fooled into thinking otherwise. Or will he?
LUNA needs a better job. Being a trapeze artist may hide her from the government, but it's not so fun when the manager is a raving lunatic and there's likely to be a crazed pervert in the crowd. So when the big top gets demolished- literally- Luna sees it as a ticket to freedom (contracts are generally void once a business has been destroyed). What she doesn't see are the doors to her past creaking open, and their contents coming to haunt her.
ZACH is normal...ish. As normal as a Gifted kid can be. His brand of normalcy includes a kickass grandma, childhood trauma and your everyday run of the mill dragon, but hey, he's not as insane as the others. Really, Zach is thirsting for adventure. Something that doesn't involve babysitting siblings or feuding with his parents. He should've been careful what he wished for.
