Lazarus is dying and the beautiful world he created is crumbling as greed and corruption enters the heart of his mortal fabrications. In a desperate attempt to save what is left of planet Quaisyr, he turns to experimentation, giving life to fledgling gods and goddesses who could potentially become his heir. They are placed in an academy in which they will learn the ways of the Quaisyans and what Lazarus expects of them. There can only be one heir, though, and if you don't live up to expectations, you don't live at all....
As more and more fledglings are being terminated by their own creator, the ones left alive turn to their only source of salvation: Xanthium Morose, a rather unique fledgling who was chosen to grow up in the mortal world and whose unfailing spirit and strong heart have made her Lazarus's favorite.. so much so that he has fed most of his energy into her.
Will she have the strength to control her own destiny and save the fledglings from a meaningless life of fear or will she fall victim to Lazaru's grand design?
