Niklaus Lauermann has always know that he was gifted with a unique power- to split atoms. Desperate to save his own kind, known as The Gifted, from the hands of the non-Gifted government, he teams up with a young and uncontrolled telepath named Matthew. 

Both are determined to save their own people, but conflicting views start to damage their partnership. What will Matthew chose- the idea of a 'perfect society' with his dangerous friend at the expence of the non-Gifted, or acceptance into a society which might not be so forgiving after all?
