La verdadera historia de Chucky
Chucky es sin duda uno de los personajes más emblemáticos de las películas de terror. Pero este "muñeco maldito" no es tan ficticio como algunos creen. Hay una historia real que inspiró a su creador, Don Mancini y que data del año 1896.

A finales del siglo XIX, un niño llamado Robert Eugene Otto recibió un muñeco como regalo. Lo hizo una mujer que trabajaba en su casa de Florida en los Estados Unidos. Pero nadie sospechaba que la empleada proveniente de Bahamas practicaba vudú y magia negra.

Al poco tiempo, los padres del niño advirtieron cosas extrañas en la casa, donde objetos del hogar volaban y eran arrojados a las paredes. Además, aparecieron varios juguetes mutilados sospechosamente. Incluso los vecinos aseguraban ver al muñeco asomarse por las ventanas cuando el hogar estaba vacío.

Los padres hablaron con el niño y dejaron el juguete en el sótano donde estuvo olvidado por años.

En 1972, Robert Otto ya trasformado en un hombre volvió junto a su esposa a vivir en la casa de sus padres. Otra vez surgieron los fenómenos extraños. Cuando Otto falleció, su esposa vendió la casa y el muñeco "Robert" fue llevado al Martello Gallery-Key West Art and Historical Museum.

Los empleados del museo aseguran que cuando un visitante quiere fotografiarse junto al muñeco debe pedirle permiso a "Robert" para evitar ser maldecido.

Esta es la historia del muñeco que inspiró al personaje de terror conocido como Chucky.

His face almost looked angelic. But he had been the jerk of your highschool, so he couldn't be that angelic. He looked away and picked at his pockets. He pulled out nothing.
