My entry to The Attys 2012.
We need to climb the wall in front of us to see what's on the other side of it. This poetry was my ladder when I felt alone, rejected, lost and hurt (during my teenage years). Letting people know what you feel can be challenging but it is worth the try especially if it will help save you.

Love Misunderstood
I only ever met one man I'd call truly noble. He was a man who was misunderstood and worthy of the world, yet everyone saw him differently. That was until I saw his true colours. The more I caught his eye the more he noticed me. We would pass each other, I would always stare a little longer at his back, wondering his story. People used to move out of the hallways if they saw him approaching whereas people would come and talk to me. He kept to himself, I was never alone, he had no friends, I was friends with everyone, I never saw him talk to anyone I spoke to many. we were polar opposites. At least that's what I thought until that day in the library, that is where I will start this story. Everyone is different, I hate the word "different", I much prefer the word unique. Unique is the only way to describe him. This is not just a story about love, it is about helping two souls who act differently but are the same on the inside, it shows the messy parts that aren't shown in movies, the tragedy, and the comedy but most of all the sizzling romance between two broken people who became one. Behind every mean girl...there's a tragedy
The average human being spends every second of his day fighting against the force of nature to see another day. But I'm different. I'm not afraid of outside forces to take my life away - only myself. Approximately 10 years ago, something happened to me. Something really bad. But I'm not allowed to talk about it. As a way to release my frustration, I give hell to my body and everyone I come in contact with - especially my parents. No one knows about what happened except the ones who did it...and Him. -Let's get this straight. From a dead end job to a useless crazy ex boyfriend- my happiness is with my best friend yet the fear of our relationship ending completely scares me and id rather fake it and be in fear than find out and never be happy. It sucks, seeing him everyday and knowing what i feel for him and how deep those feelings go is painful...- But when he comes around everything changes for the best and for the worst. As a whole they are deeply loved and equally as hated by others but the love from one another is undeniable, if only she wasnt so selfish with her choices and words- -Lying, cheating, sneaking, crying- many acts and emotions come from within when there's someone you love unaware of that love.. Possibly growing to love someone else right before your eyes..Its gut wrenching, i know because ive fucked up. Its worse when you're aware of the harm you cause yourself and others but dont care how the outcome turns out to be. Why would it matter how it effects you if youre used to pain and people leaving? it wouldnt.
