July, 1917. It's the fierce Battle of Passchendaele. Lance Corporal James Perrishton is part of the 15th Scottish Battalion, at the age of 20. After joining at the Illegal age of 15, he has experienced the brutality of The Great War. He has seen enough already, but must go on to the Third Battle of Ypres. The '5 Mile Push' to Passchendaele was suspected to take a few days. At least, James thought that. Not only did he not realize there was more than a few days up ahead, but also something more deadly than the enemies bullets....

Piano keys were her childhood, but the grasp of a pistol was her reality. Polish SOE Agent, Natia Filipska, has lurked among the rubble and the shadows of her occupied-Warsaw for years, ever since the war started and ripped her from the life that had guaranteed happiness and opportunity. The SOE took her in, as well as her two siblings, Klimeck and Ryzshard, arming them with a fighting spirit, and a chance at survival, at a life where they could avenge the ones that were taken. Being apart of the Cichociemni came next, Elite Polish Paratroopers, and it was their ticket home. Ever since her feet had then touched the ground, she had been fighting with her home and her people - the Polish Home Army. The Warsaw Uprising got her captured, and then being on the run nearly got her killed - her only ally was the pistol at her side. The Dutch Resistance of Eindhoven, Holland housed her, but it would never be her home. Upon liberation though, her path crossed with an Airborne Infantry - the 101st Airborne Division - the Screaming Eagles - American men. To ensure her safety back to Warsaw, Poland and her family, Easy Company and their men might be her only hope. But hope was lost long ago. ------------------------- " Well, I've been 'fraid of changin' 'Cause I've built my life around you But time makes you bolder Even children get older And I'm gettin' older, too...." - Landslide, Fleetwood Mac ---------- mature themes are held within the context of this story that may be triggering to some people: death, smoking, alcohol, killings, and severe depression, along with mental health issues. --------- band of brothers + oc's { October 2nd 2020 } UPDATES BEGIN - Fridays starting 10 - 2 - 20 started: 7/4/20 ended: 3/15/23 ------------------------ NEW COVER!!! done by ME!!! credits on words by @swedeandspicy
Wildflowers In The Ruins: A 1917 Story by Snowdropsdream
18 parts Complete Mature
Completed fan fiction for the film 1917: This is the very first fan fiction I've ever attempted. Please be kind. I hope you like it. It features all of the main characters, several of the others, plus many I've created. Northern France, April 1917: A Voluntary Aid Detachment nurse is sent on an urgent mission across no-man's land accompanying two Lance Corporals, but she will have her own mission to fullfil also and be tested in ways she never deemed possible. Each chapter is named after a flower, relevant to the story, and that you can encounter growing in the wild, either in Britain or Northern France, with the exception of roses and Sweet William's. This story does contain spoilers from the film so it's really worth watching it first. Chapers two (from around halfway through) to eight I've taken directly from the film. The script is copyrighted to Sam Mendes and Krysty Wilson-Cairns, although I've worked from what's spoken in the film rather than off the script. I've taken inspiration from other films, television and books (fiction and non-fiction) set in the First World War too such as Forgotten Voices, The Roses Of No-Man's Land, War Horse, The Crimson Field, Private Peaceful, They Shall Not Grow Old, Testament Of Youth, Journey's End and Birdsong. I've also taken inspiration from the beautiful book A Song For Will which is based on the true story of the gardeners and labourers from the Heligan Estate in Cornwall. Every character who isn't featured in the film 1917 is fictitious and the names are entirely made-up, although every female character's Christian name in my story belongs to a female relative of mine who was alive at the time of the First World War, for example my four Great-grandmothers were Mary-Jane, Lavinia, Ada and Alice. The other names were from my Great and Great-Great-Aunts. Enjoy. ❤ 🌺 ☘ 🌻 💖 🍂 🌿 🌼 💗 🌲 🌸 🍃 💕 🌹 🌱 ⚘💝 🌳 🏵 💮 💌 🌾 💐 🍁 💞 🍀

it's been 2 years since the battle of dunkirk. tommy is still traumatized by the terrors of being a soldier in that horrible time. he fears he will never get over the trauma he experienced. will somebody come along the way to dull his pain or will they leave him helpless? ~~~~ warning: this story may move a bit too fast for your liking, but i'm planning on making the story short, about 30 chapters. enjoy the book. i also wrote this book at 14, so i apologize in advance if anything in the book seems grammatically/logically incorrect. - got in #1 ranking for the fionnwhitehead tag.
