For several months now, Azazel has been accompanying Lang on his adventures. Since he is the fabled Hero of Goltav, destined to save the world from the numerous calamities currently befalling it, their travels have been quite exciting. Run-ins with the undead, battles with dragons, and audiences with the king are only scratching the surface.

One day while on the way to another important location, Lang decided to take a break in the small town of Bedro, leaving the business of saving the world for some other day. Fearful of the consequences at first, Azazel soon finds that the world continues to spin, seemingly unaffected by the disappearance of its hero. No demons, zombies, dragons, or any other malevolent forces are taking advantage of his absence. Its as if they are waiting.

As time passes, she notices more and more things that are not quite right with the world. Things that do not make sense to anyone but Lang. Usually she can explain them away, but events that defy reason begin to make her skeptical of the universe she lives in.

*****BOOK ONE****** Set in a continent called Irevalen, where the skies are ruled by dragon-shifters - immortal beings who can take human form, but never fully shed their beast. Centuries ago, a Blood Treaty was made between dragons and the last surviving human kingdom. To maintain balance and peace, a dragon from the royal bloodline must bond with a human every 500 years - not just a marriage, but a soul-binding, deep magic deal that ensures dragons don't destroy the mortal realm with their fire and fury. The catch? The human bride is always chosen by fate. No one picks. No one can refuse. Or so they say. --- 🔥 The Male Lead: Kaelith Vyron, the current heir to the SKYCOURT throne - feared warrior, emotionless strategist, and cold-blooded dragon prince. Has rejected the idea of love his whole life. Is terrified of what the soul-bond might do to him (dragons who bond can be consumed by obsession). Is pissed that fate tied him to a weak, mortal girl. Thinks she'll break. Plans to scare her off. But she doesn't. And it wrecks him. --- 🕊️ The Female Lead: Liora Vane, 22-year-old healer's apprentice from the far southern coast. Orphaned young. Grew up with books, herbs, and freedom. Hates the idea of fate deciding who she marries. Thinks dragons are cruel, inhuman monsters. When she's taken from her village and presented to Kaelith, she fights back - hard. Swears she'll never belong to him. But then... she sees pieces of his humanity. And it terrifies her more than the fire ever did.

"...Each of these characters emerges from wildly differing circumstances, and have unique perspectives and goals, which don't always neatly align with those of their companions, and in some cases can leave them wondering if they're even fighting on the right side. It's that searching and self-doubt -- all while being swept up by larger events -- that makes these players in this little drama so fascinating." -Doug Bedwell, Author of "A Counterfeit Princess" and "Robot Captain" This story is based on the setting and system of the table-top role-playing game, "A Tale of Heroes" By Mark Hansen, Brendon Hansen, and Jacob Hansen. Trapped in an unfamiliar world, sixteen-year-old Quinn is frustrated that none of the strange Tree People appreciate his urgency to get back home to earth. Now he is faced with a choice that could change the course of his life: escape and find his own way home, or stay and help them find the cause of the poison ravishing their world. IMPORTANT: This manuscript is a rough draft - widely unedited. There may be grammar, spelling, and pacing issues. I've been working on this story since 2023 in my original manuscript and hope to one day publish the final, extended version. I could see him grinning out of the corner of my eye. He was enjoying this far too much. "Just do not ever scare me like that again, Jasper," I fussed. He winced as I moved the cloth across his ribs. "Or what?" he toyed. I stopped and glared at him, stammering, trying to think of something clever. "I-I'll... I don't know, but I'll think of something." Before I knew it, Jasper had his arm around my waist and pulled me into the tub with a splash. "Jasper," I gasped. In a world where humans and orcs have been at war for centuries, 22-year-old Lady Brenna of Blackwater Hold is sent to the Northern Orruk Horde - an unheard-of act. Her father, King Corvus, pledged her to the chief, Jasper Bloodborne, to save his own life. Were these orcs the beasts her father taught her to fear? She soon learns how wrong she was - and that her time in the Northern Orruk Mountains will change everything she thought she knew about loyalty, courage, and desire. ⚠️ Content Warning: This story contains sexual content, mentions of SA, miscarriage, abortion, violence, and gore. Alastor Kingsleigh never wanted to be married, nor be surprised about a marriage. Alastor didn't like the idea of a prissy lady bearing his last name and given how odd he was, it just bettered his wish. After Charles Kingsleigh passed away, both surviving men in the family took care of the family in any way they could. Marcus and Alastor worried about their sister the most, even though Alastor had the same dream for as long as he could remember, his sister was always his first priority. Even if she was six years older than him. Andromeda Kingsleigh was the middle child. Growing up, she was taught that a lady should dress properly and behave properly to get a husband. She loved her mother and loved that her mother didn't want her to be alone, but she felt that her mother tried too hard. Many times Charles took Andromeda out of lessons and taught her life skills. The one most important: "Marry for love. Not for money or power or even just to not die alone. Chase your dreams and the one for you. I achieved it and as my daughter, I believe in you." So now, at age 25, Andromeda has turned away every man asking for her hand and turned to help her mother and her youngest brother. Even if it meant dropping down a rabbit hole and falling in love with a king that she never expected to fall in love with. While avoiding his deranged brother. "That bloody deranged fool is obsessed with your sister Alastor. You have to save her before it's too late." "It's my crown and she's my queen! I am the eldest!" "My brother is....well, egotistical. Everyone calls him 'Bloody Big Head' but it's just something people say because of his ego. Underland needs a champion Alastor." "King Ian, while I appreciate your flattering comments. The answer is no. I will never marry an egotistical bag of dicks like yourself. I belong with Maverick." "My beautiful queen. Will you give me the honor of calling you my wife?"

Sneak peak: Suddenly a very small, strange creature that looked like a miniature woman with wings darted in front of Celine's face, then flew over to Brandon and followed along beside him for a moment before speeding back into the Royal Pine Forest as he reined in his horse. "What in the Midlands was that?" Brandon asked in shock. "I don't know," Celine answered concerned. "Something very strange is going on. I feel like I need to go into the woods! There's something I need to do in the woods!" she said as she rode over to the side of the road and dismounted, running into the Royal Pine Forest as Brandon called after her to wait. He quickly dismounted and swiftly lead his horse over to Celine's, taking its reins and tying both horses to a tree before going after her. "Celine! Wait!" he called after her as he realized that he could hear a very low humming noise coming from within the woods. "Maybe she's following the noise," he thought as he began to follow it to find where it was coming from and hopefully locate Celine. He pushed through the underbrush as the sound became louder and then he saw Celine standing in front of a whirling, shimmering vortex which was floating about four feet above the forest floor. There was a myriad of different types of strange looking creatures coming out of it and Brandon stood there in disbelief at what he was seeing.

Level One Ghost

39 chapitres En cours d'écriture

Lex was a basement dwelling, caffeine fueled, MMO junkie with zero real world accomplishments and a level 80 necromancer he was weirdly proud of. One unlucky night, Lex dies, chokes on a chicken nugget while arguing in chat. Lame as hell. Instead of the afterlife he expected, he wakes up as a ghost, tethered to the city he lived in. But something's off. He's now part of the Haunting System, a bizarre LitRPG framework that tracks his XP from tormenting the living, learning ghost powers, and scaring up mischief. His best friend Miles is now stuck dealing with Portland's magical underbelly. Soul harvesting cults, hipster necromancers, vape shop warlocks, and a growing glitch in reality that's swallowing ghosts like corrupted save files. He might be dead, but the game isn't over. It's just getting weird and Lex isn't the only ghost on the leaderboard.
