Anastasia Nikolaevna Romanova is the fourth child of the Russian Tsar Nicholas. But at 16, she has few privileges past those of other girls her age. Her family is apathetic to her emotions, with the exception of her older sister Maria. Alexei, the crown prince, lives in constant fear of bleeding to death, as hemophilia takes the last male heir to the Romanov dynasty.

Meanwhile, the Bolsheviks have been gaining power, and their secret soldiers are posted everywhere in Moscow. Too many young men are drafted into this secret army, offered only the alternative of death. Things reach a boiling point when the royal family is put under house arrest by the Bolshevik Cheka. Rumors are flying around the palace. There is talk of a "final blow", and Anastasia's whole world is about to be turned upside down.

The lives of the Last Grand Duchesses told from their perspectives. Olga~ I understood why he was given to me. Mama was already under much pressure. I felt the pressure from the executives and from her piercing stare, I was just a mere teenager at the time. Later on I had gotten scolded for his behavior. "Tatiana would have done a better job! You are the eldest Olga! The responsibility comes to you! Why can't you be more like your sister!" I will never forget those words, Why can't you be more like your sister? I ran out of the room crying that day. Tatiana~ I was woken up by the sound of yelling and doors being harshly opened. I sat up rubbing my eyes from the tiredness, it is most likely the middle of the night! My confusion is rapidly replaced with fear as five bolshevik guards entered our room, reeking of alcohol, drunk. Our dogs started barking, I was full of panic. We were in our nightly attire but we had our corsets filled with sown jewels hidden underneath, our secret. Maria~ I felt the comfort knowing that someone still cared and was looking out for me. I did not deserve his kind soul yet I still held onto him because he was the only thing that was separating me from the void of loneliness. I smiled at him then quickly looking away to find Olga staring at me across the dinner table with eyes beyond angry. Our eye contact lasted for a long time, I did not dare to look away. It was as if she was the predator and I was her prey, caught at the right moment. That was when I knew that this was the start of the end... Anastasia~ "Maybe they won't hurt us, just let her be in love"I supposed. "Love? What love? The love where we can't go outside? The love where they betrayed our family? The love where we can't have any damn privacy or the love where they wouldn't let us to england and leave us be! So you tell me Anastasia, what love?" "I know you are mad, but let her have this one thing, stop being unpleasant to her." I plead. -- Created in January of 2020
