"Why are you always so closed off, Eva? You don't let anyone in, not even those who want to help you!" Alex shouted.
Eva wrenched her arm away from his grasp, hot tears blurring her vision. She wiped them away angrily. "It's none of your business," she seethed. "Just leave me alone."
She began walking away, but was stopped by his next words.
"I know about her."
