I was the only one to look past his hideous physical appearance, to know how to comfort a creature of darkness; I couldn't bare holding in my emotions any longer. Tears plunged down my pale cheeks and I looked down to take his hand. Making sure not to drop the small item, I closed his rough fingers around the ring.
