She came from a poor family, so she always had to spend her afternoons working at Pop's to earn some money, her abusive father never let her though.
Jughead is the popular quarterback, rich and wealthy. He had everything he wanted, money, girls. Everything. His dad was never home so he always had parties, even in school nights, you could say his life was perfect, but it's not, he feels like something is missing. A void wanting to be filled.
