The Fatalist

In the shadow of Midwestern industrial death and the buildup to the Iraq War, Ethan Alexander finds himself on the verge of existential crisis. An unorthodox relief comes in the form of his brother, who teaches him how to break into empty houses the night before he leaves for basic training. At first a harmless thrill, things change when he breaks his brother's cardinal rule: Never steal anything that will be missed.

In his last semester of high school, Ethan finds himself fighting to contain the consequences of his actions from spreading to his friends, family, and community.
