Her eyes misted over as she stared at the happy couple. "Do you think that'll be us one day?" She sighed, leaning back into him.

Leaning down, he nuzzled his face in her neck and wrapped his arms around her middle, breathing in the vanilla scent of her shampoo. "My heart beats for you and you only. I'll stand by your side no matter what, for as long as you'll have me."

She turned around in his arms in lightning speed, her eyes wide with disbelief. "Did you just propose to me?"

"It depends whether you want to be proposed to or not." He shrugged, pulling her closer to him as their bodies swayed to the rhythm of the slow song.

She attempted to scowl but couldn't control her smile. "I guess we won't know that until it actually happens."

The song came to an end then, and all couples pulled away to clap for the newly weds whom had just finished their first dance.

Once it had quietened down and the live band started the next song, he merely smirked in response, untangled himself from her and began walking in the direction of the open bar. "I guess so."

She replied, aligning the entire bunch of paper flowers. "But they don't have the fragrance." He politely challenged her. He was a soldier. Chivalrous was his middle name. "These paper flowers, they stay with you for as long as you want. You don't really have to throw them away like people discard the real ones. They pluck them for the fragrance and colors. But once that fades, they throw it away." She said, finally looking up at him. "Not everyone!" He added almost immediately, taking one more step forward. It could be his height or his longer stride, or maybe the room was too small as it only took him two steps to reach her. "Yeah! Of course! Exceptions are there, like poets and people in love." She walked in a different direction, putting those flowers on the table. He rolled his eyes with a defeated sigh. She was a teacher. Arguing with her was as futile as making a sand castle on a seashore. "You know, gone is the era when people used to preserve the flowers of their loved ones. We don't have people like that anymore!" She said as she faced him. "We don't have that kind of love anymore." He said looking straight into her eyes. She held his gaze through the mirror for a while, trying to read through him. "I agree." Murmuring under her breath, she turned around. Taking a deep breath, watching her retreating figure, he brought out his favorite poetry book from the shelf. After he was sure she was not looking, he ruffled through the pages till he found a dried Hibiscus. The very same one which had fallen from her bag when he first saw her. With a small smile, he cautiously caressed the petals. He closed the book with a fond sigh and found her looking at him. She couldn't hold his gaze for long and looked down, crimson covering her cheeks. He shook his head with a chuckle.

Elizabeth Brooks Sam's restaurant, LA "With love comes happiness and heartache. If it's done right, it'll be worth the entire trauma and the pain. If it's done wrong, it will stay with you forever. "Remember, you can love a fool or let a fool love you, but never let love fool you. You are stronger than you think. You are wiser than you illustrate and you have more passion than your heart is able to handle. Are you listening, Lizzy?" Sara looked at Elizabeth from across the restaurant table after scanning the menu. "Sorry, my ears reject all bullshit. Love isn't real, it's an illusion. Only pathetic losers fall in love, remember that!" she spat, signaling the waiter. Sarah looked at her best friend with sadness and pity in her eyes. Jake Carter CarTel Inc., LA "Jake" Jason called as he spotted his exit from the elevator. "What is it now Jason?" Jake asked not bothering to look over his shoulder. He collected his messages from his secretary and entered into his office. "I need a favor" Jason smiled guilty "When do you not?" He sighed, sitting behind his large desk. He rested his leather briefcase on the ground beside his chair and turned back to his best friend. "What?" "Can I get the rest of the day off?" "Did you finish the Lodge Hotel proposal?" Jake wondered. "That's where the favor comes in. I'll have it for you tomorrow early in the morning but I have to get somewhere..." Jake placed his head in hand and groaned "I should fire you" Jake muttered. "That's the beauty of a partnership, you can't. Plus, you're lucky I'm giving you a heads up instead of just leaving" Jason chuckled, sitting on the front of Jake's desk. Jake leaned back into his chair as he bit down repeatedly on his pen. "I feel so fortunate. Tomorrow, I'm serious Jason. No more fucking a round. I need this done." Jason raised his palms up in defense "you have my word." He promised standing to his feet.

This assignment came up last minute! I am so desperate to see you! SERIOUSYL!." Proofreading wasn't her thing. "You mean 'seriously' ?" He added the 'eye roll' emoji. "See! You get me! Now, do you believe me? I ain't fooling around!" She smirked while adding the same emoji. "But I wanna fool around!" He inserted three wink emojis, making his intentions clear. She rolled her eyes, but a pink hue on her cheeks said a different story altogether. "I think we should do this..." She typed as she lay on the couch. "Shoot!" "Whenever we meet, we meet for the full day. From morning to evening, sunrise to moon-set, we can do whatever we feel like doing! We either stay in or go out, whatever our hearts say. But that'd be our first and last meeting!" She hesitated before hitting the send button. "And then we never meet again?" "Nope." "You're suggesting what exactly all guys want from their 'first' dates!" He grinned. "Some girls like that too ;)" She shook her head and backspaced. "I don't know about all boys." "Are" "You" "In?" He could feel her smirk across the screen. Without meeting her or watching her face, he knew her well enough to understand her emotions. "I'm so in! 24 hours and then never again. Sounds so perfect!" "Final then! We only meet once and then never see each other ever again!" She blushed another pink while typing. He smiled reading that.
