Nivian (her friends call her Nivi) stumbles upon a strange door in downtown Boston on her way to a new job as a telemarketer--and finds herself being recruited for sorcery instruction instead. Peregrine, a young black scholar and spray-paint muralist who has trouble with wind (it tends to waft him away), is also recruited by the strange old man with the long white beard. They both pulse with power and have trouble controlling it. But can they master the arts of magic? And can Nivi tolerate the annoying crush Peregrine has? Oh, and there is a third student, the goth Niss who prefers they /them to she and isn't shy about cursing anyone out who forgets it. With their lineage tracing back to the Salem witches they add an interesting third dimension to this magical and dangerous teen adventure.

In the heart of the mist-shrouded English countryside stands the sprawling estate of Sir Alistair Pendragon, a mansion steeped in magic and mystery. Hidden from the ordinary world, this ancient abode is a sanctuary for arcane knowledge and the training ground for a select group of students. Among them is Sir Alistair's granddaughter, Eliza Pendragon, who has been chosen not only for her potential but also as a gesture of the wizard's deep love and concern for her future. As Eliza embarks on her journey through the mansion's labyrinthine corridors and magical chambers, she is both exhilarated and daunted by the challenge ahead. The students, each with their unique talents, navigate not only the complexities of mastering magic but also the intricate web of rivalries and alliances that form within the estate's enchanted walls. Eliza's world shifts when she meets Sylas Blackthorn, a strikingly handsome student with shoulder-length black hair and piercing grey eyes. Despite his outward charm and skill, Sylas harbors a secret fascination with dark magic, a passion that sets him apart from his peers and casts a shadow over their budding romance. As Eliza and Sylas's relationship deepens, she uncovers hints of a hidden prophecy and a looming threat that may be tied to Sir Alistair's mysterious motivations for selecting his students. The stakes rise as dark forces stir, and Eliza must grapple with her own feelings, her loyalty to her grandfather, and the peril that threatens their world. In Love and Magic, love and danger intertwine as Eliza and Sylas confront their deepest fears and the dark secrets that could either save or doom their magical world.

Five Star Reviews for Atlantis Academy: "Omg this book was amazing I couldn't put it down or stop reading. I carried it with me open on my phone while I did everything just to keep reading. I need more of all of this. Epic story, epic content, epic visuals, just epic. LOVE THIS!" "Once I got into this story, I did not stop reading it. This is a beautiful story about a very awkward girl who is riven with so much pain and angst and yet... this makes her who she is and shapes her into the person she will become. The world she finds herself awakened to is magical and yet filled with the all-too-familiar cliques and tribes of the very human people who inhabit it. One word to describe the story: beautiful!" "The story pulls you headlong to the end and leaves you wanting to shout "No! Not yet!" ...If there were 6 stars, I would have given it that." *** Humanity is one secret society away from extinction. The children of Atlantis use magic to keep us safe. If they make it through the Academy. Hi, I'm Lyric. And I'm kind of a mess. ADHD, that's me. I'm a high school drop-out, late everywhere I go, and one screw-up away from being homeless. I'm a loner, and I like it that way. Who needs friends when you have a Redwood forest nearby? Trees never bully me like the kids did at school. Or get drunk and throw things at my head. After my mom died, I figured life couldn't get much worse. I thought it might even get better. Ha. The universe has a great sense of humor. I should've listened to the rumors about evil spirits. About the angry, ancient magical creatures haunting our small Oregon Coast town. But did I? No. That was my first mistake. And it might be my last. 'Cause now I'm in a battle for my life. A whole new world has opened up... a magical world I don't understand. And the blood in my veins says I belong here. But I have to prove myself to save myself. And when have I ever done that?
