Diamond in the Rough

16 year-old Kaimana Karkea has had one dream all her life: to play as Aislin, the star in the musical "daydreams". Auditions have finally come around for it, but there's one big problem: It costs 150 dollars to be in it, and her family is stuck in a bad economy. Only girls from ages 12 to 16 can have that role, so this is her one and only chance. Kaimana finds out that there's a talent show competition, and the first place prize is 150 dollars! But how can a girl with no preforming arts training (except for singing in the shower, acting in front of a mirror, and dancing the dances in dance shows) win against people who have been doing this all thier lives? Well, as someone who is considered a "diamond in the rough", she might just be able to succeed. With a little help from someone who has actually had the role of Aislin, of course!
