"So you're telling me there's nothing going on between us?" he questioned, stepping toward me. I stood rooted in place, my mind blank. When I didn't answer, he closed the gap, stopping just inches away. I could already smell his cologne and shaving cream. Suddenly, I felt hot and acutely aware of him. My thoughts were consumed by the distance between us rather than his question.
