Aftergods, or the Shadows of the Fallen Gods, were too powerful to be completely banished. Bereft of the guiding conscience possessed by their former selves, these entities rampage across the lands, causing wanton destruction.

Only the self-proclaimed God Hunters, an independent organisation of skilled fighters, magicians and inventors, claim to be able to put an end to this threat. Yet, the people do not believe them, seeing them as nothing more than greedy liars who possess only pretty words and useless weapons.
