Alfred has had unclear feelings for Ivan for a long while now, but he has just recently realized it may not be what he's always thought it would be. Maybe it was something else but anger and frustration or fear? But what could it be? And why would it be for the man he used to hate more than anyone else?

Ivan, whose heart is still frozen by the Cold War between the two, doesn't seem to return the same feelings for Alfred...

Or at least not in the same way...

.

Alfred finds himself in the roulette table. A gun isn't included in this game, yet, but Ivan seems to have his finger on the trigger... In a way.

The two men are commanded to meet around the table every month to analyze and rebuilt their shattered relations.

Will this new change into their lifestyle change something else too? Will the history be left behind and will new trust be built between the two? Or will the destruction be brought back to life?

.

After the second American Civil War, the world changes drastically. A new nation stood where the United States once was, the Last Empire having fallen to its own people. Addicted to more chemicals than a lab rat, Alfred has a hard time keeping his head up- quite literally. It's not that he doesn't want to quit- believe me, he does!- it's just that the withdrawal is destroying him from the inside out. What makes it worse, is when he's placed into an arranged marriage as a landgrab, and then told about it just before it happened. Now he is wrestling with both his addiction, and someone he was supposed to marry in 1860! Ivan was an addict, once. He understood the pain of withdrawal. He wants to help, since there was nobody around to help him. The idea of joining the Union was one he hadn't even thought of before his boss had arranged the marriage with the dictatrix. Now, he was thrown into a world he didn't know, forced to interact with people he had never met, and be one of the first nations, the third most powerful, to join a mega-nation. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Extra: Alfred is headcannoned as brown get over it. Alfred is headcannoned as non-binary (used to be a 2s) (he/him, female titles) Nobody is irrationally scared of Russia. You like a lot of cute babies and mama Alfred this is your book my guy. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hetalia: Axis Powers does not belong to me. No editor just me. All art in this book will be mine (unless, of course, fanart :) )

Is the clown the fool of the story, or are you? After all, the clown knows it's an act, but the audience is so lost in it that they tend to forget. Alfred had lived a long life. He'd learned a lot in it. That England was easy to gaslight if you knew what you were doing. France would back away from any show of force. Germany could ignore a bumbling idiot even as the evidence piled up just because he wasn't very good with people. Poland saw everything and read people like a book. Prussia would keep his mouth shut if you gave him enough liquor or made him obedient. Russia would turn a blind eye if you turned one to him. China never trusted anyone even if there was evidence of the contrary. His mother's revenge would play out, and it would make him the happiest man in the world. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hetalia:Axis Powers. No ships in this book! If there is it's in the past! Mostly sibling bonding. America can shapeshift and is non-binary (he/him female titles).
