To seventeen year old Alice Michaels, being the new girl is a familiar concept, considering her father and her constantly move across the United States for his job as a successful architect. Ever since her mom died life has just meant a few brown boxes thrown into the back of a moving van. Finding comfort and solitude in books, Alice just doesn't see the point in actually putting herself out there, and, as she puts, interacting with the human race. Finding herself once again thrown into a new town, she is determined to get through senior year without to much complication...... And then there is Ryan Goldman, who is anything but shining gold to people in this town. After all, he has been stuck in this sorry excuse for a town for seventeen years. He knew everybody, and knew the reputation they had given him: resident bad boy. After years of trying to find someone who would see him in a different light, he thought that there was no hope and stuck to doing what he was best at: being an arrogant, rude player. After all, wasn't that in the job description? Both of them struggling to find trust and deal with what life has turned them into, Alice and Ryan's world collide together in the small town both of them were forced to be in and soon hope to get out of. Will Ryan finally prove himself to be anything but a bad boy? Will Alice reach out of her bubble and put trust in others? Or will old habits die hard? She is supposed to be a good, quiet girl. He is branded as the bad, egotistic bad boy. What happens when they leave all expectations of themselves behind? Isabella had never really fit into the mold that her family was forcing her in. Luckily, she finds a place that accepts her as she is. However, she didn't expect it to be among a bunch of rowdy bikers. *** Isabella knew how her life would go - even if she didn't like it. Since the day she was born she had been shaped and squished into the role of the perfect high-society trophy girl. But the shoe never really fit. She was too curious, too clumsy, too nice. When she intercepts a flying coffee cup for a complete stranger, little did she know she would soon be staying with the city's infamous motorcycle club. And it seems the rowdy men have little intention of letting her go any time soon. Especially not their large, protective enforcer. And that is alright with Isabella. Home is where the heart is and she's lost hers in the Steel Rebels' club house. **** This is the first part of Isabella's and Knux's story and will be completed with "Hammer & Anvil (Steel Rebels MC #2)". ***** Fictive location. Mature scenes. Strong language. Past abuse (Trigger warnings in chapters)/PTSD. Violence. D/s (mainly bedroom, gentledom/sweetsub, light ddlg). Relates to "Neighbor cottage" but can be read independently. Word count: about 200 000 Original cover picture: https://unsplash.com/photos/DdPvyjLOeyA - Edit by noige22 Completed May 2023
