Isabella Maria de Marques is a young girl living in 16th century Spain.
Years earlier, her brother, Ricardo left Spain in an expedition to find the rumored El Dorado, the lost city of gold in South America. No one has heard of him since, and many of Isabella's family believe him to be dead. Isabella can't believe her brother would ever die, and heads out to find her brother and the lost city of gold, by sneaking into a boat sailing to South America.
