HORNS (BoyXBoy)

Horst McKenzie is a happy person... or at least, that's what he'd say if you asked him. It's also what he tries to make everyone believe, including himself, but as the hybrid son of a werewolf and a satyr, he is a living, breathing remnant from an otherwise traumatic and unwanted experience... and the shadow of that reality has followed him his whole life.

But he's fine now! He has to be. The last five years of working on his relationships have paid off: his father's happy, his pack is flourishing, the alliances they've made over the years with other werewolves are rock solid, and he has a roof over his head. Food on the table. A comfortable place to sleep.

Everything is too perfect to complain.

Until it very suddenly isn't.

In the same month that a covert underground program called the V.R.C. sends the very first vampire applicant to ever take the cure for a disease called Blood Rabies to live with him, for rehabilitation purposes, Horst also meets the one person he hates more than anyone else on the planet: the satyr who orchestrated an assault on his father and caused every single hardship in his life.

Little by little, his brilliantly fake smile begins to fray.

Little by little, the perfect picture of a happy future begins to crack.

And little by little, the shadow he tries so hard to ignore looms larger over his horns.
