Brett is a painter without inspiration. Suddenly, he finds his muse in the form of Eddy, a young soldier just returned from service overseas. Eddy is not immediately receptive to the idea of being a model, and he is quite sure his thoughts and feelings for Brett aren't appropriate. Surely it's best for the two to give each other space, and let childish crushes lapse? Still, he somehow lets the artist convince him to pose, and the mutual pining between the two begins to become unbearable...
This is a historical AU! I figure it's set in the Regency Era, sort of Jane Austen style. Indeed, this will be slow-burn in a sort of Jane Austen sense, as the characters flirt around each other for *ages* before anything happens. Enjoy!

(A/N: This is essentially going to be a process of fixing + improving Lean on Us, a pre-existing fic on my page, as I'm not too happy with how it came out as the years go by. After Luka's painful pining experience over Marinette Dupain-Chang, he pretty much gives up on romance and prioritizes being there for the ones he loves and putting their needs above his own. As this happens, (Y/N) transfers into Marinette's class upon being adopted by their uncle due to the sudden death of their parents. (Y/N) is still moving on and dealing with the repercussions of their mother and father's passing when Juleka introduces (Y/N) to Luka at their band rehearsal. They form a strong bond and become fast friends- and quickly become something more- but how much more can they be in the chaos of suddenly becoming a hero on top of that? Adrien was a good boyfriend. He listened to what Marinette said about Luka and tried his best to keep his distance, ignoring what was becoming a wonderful friendship. So, this short book (I'm guessing at most fifty chapters, just fair warning ;-)) will be the culmination of two long books full of drama, love, angst, and uwu. With the recap you find in the first chap you don't need to read the last two books, but if you DO want to read the whole thing, read Andante and Andante con Brio first before you read on here, for obvious spoiler reasons.
