Brett is a painter without inspiration. Suddenly, he finds his muse in the form of Eddy, a young soldier just returned from service overseas. Eddy is not immediately receptive to the idea of being a model, and he is quite sure his thoughts and feelings for Brett aren't appropriate. Surely it's best for the two to give each other space, and let childish crushes lapse? Still, he somehow lets the artist convince him to pose, and the mutual pining between the two begins to become unbearable...
This is a historical AU! I figure it's set in the Regency Era, sort of Jane Austen style. Indeed, this will be slow-burn in a sort of Jane Austen sense, as the characters flirt around each other for *ages* before anything happens. Enjoy!

(A/N: This is essentially going to be a process of fixing + improving Lean on Us, a pre-existing fic on my page, as I'm not too happy with how it came out as the years go by. After Luka's painful pining experience over Marinette Dupain-Chang, he pretty much gives up on romance and prioritizes being there for the ones he loves and putting their needs above his own. He begins to attract attention as the band Kitty Section picks up some major traction, leading him to feel the need to repress any hurt he's feeling himself. As this happens, (Y/N) transfers into Marinette's class upon being adopted by their uncle due to the sudden death of their parents. (Y/N) is still moving on and dealing with the repercussions of their mother and father's passing when Juleka introduces (Y/N) to Luka at their band rehearsal. They form a strong bond and become fast friends- and quickly become something more- but how much more can they be in the chaos of suddenly becoming a hero on top of that? Adrien was a good boyfriend. He listened to what Marinette said about Luka and tried his best to keep his distance, ignoring what was becoming a wonderful friendship. After a series of unfortunate events, he finds himself single and gets a second chance at a real friend from (Y/N), much to Luka's dismay. What happens when this certain blond is thrown into the mix? Au in which Eddy and Brett are living in China and are sons of poor peasants. They are working in different factories and best friends (or could there be more than friendship?) The story takes place in the early 20th century but planes are already invented and there are airports and stuff. I tried to orient a bit on the actual historical situation in the countries, but it's definitely not 100% accurate! The story is vaguely based on a dream of mine and the Twosetweek prompts of April 2020. It's my first real fanfic, I hope you like it😊 ~MollyComplete
