The Protectors of the Five Isles were on a mission to find a student at the guard school of Rosan, who was leaking information to Atora. Atora is a sorceress, who wants revenge against the Council of the Five Isles. They had took away her family when they discovered they had an incurable disease and died without her. April, a guard in training, discovered Conner as a protector instead of a student. They were both warped into a microscopic cell and have to escape before time runs out.
