Basically an alternate version of the movie with an extra character who's my OC named Ava Brooks who's a rare human puppet hybrid, the daughter of the director and writer of The Happytime Gang and a young detective alongside Connie and Phil helping to solve the Happytime Murders and to try and prove her father Martin Brooks innocence and that he wasn't the one who killed her mother.

In this particular story, George works at a coffee shop while also maintaining being an undercover detective working on the 'Smile Murderer' case with his partner; Nick. Clay, an everyday regular, catches George's attention. George sees him as a possible suspect for a moment, but it's replaced by the charm Clay has. However, Clay begins to act strangely as more of the murders happen. George, being the detective he is, notices this easily. Ava is a party planner that plans big events in the US. As you can see, they went their separate ways. Suddenly, one day, they all meet again unexpectedly. They had a small catch up and talked about their problems and their reasons why they came back. As Maudie and Ezra try to solve their problems. They realized that the other has changed... In a good way. The 4 adults express and act like youths as they go through life and think of what it was like when they were younger. The fact that they still act like immature teens at times really shows that even when their adults, their children at heart. This story is basically about the Inbestigators, as adults, Growing up and dealing with adult problems and feelings. Even past traumas. It is MAINLY a romance fanfic though.
