A girl with bright, igniting emerald green eyes. A boy with pain and agony filled in his innocent dark blue eyes shaded with hints of silver dashed in his eyes. Young, unknown of what fate could bring. Used to be best friends. because of one thing and one thing only .Betrayal. Noelle. She chooses quietness, reading, listening to music, and trying to not get notice and blend in. Devon. Been avoiding Noelle or El as he used to call her because of a harmful secret. But she believes that he ditched her to be one of "them". The only person she talks to is a mystery guy, who sits on the other side of the tree on 86th Street. Will she ever overcome the fear and look behind the tree, the person she's been talking to for three years ever since she started high school. He's helped her through everything...who could it be? He could be anybody and nobody. She spends her days flipping through the pages and hitting the play button on her music playlist. He could be there but not emotionally...or tree.

Clay had been closeted all his life and planned for it to remain that way. But, with having homophobic parents it was seemingly impossible to ever find the happiness he longed for. After being outed to the only people he now disliked the most, his parents react worse than expected and Clay falls into a pit of loneliness when he gets sent to conversion therapy to "turn him straight again". George had homophobic parents too and goes through the same. When times are at its worst somehow these two meet each other and now they are isolated from reality in the therapy school.
