Jughead tried really hard to keep it that way until he couldn't. One drunken call and their lifes changed in many ways. They started the hating competition - how rude and mean you can be to each others, how can you hurt other one even more? They don't see each other often, only few times in past several years, but they keep leaving messages here and there, hurtful ones. They hear things from their friends and family, but no, they don't wanna see each other. Jughead knows Betty likes to go out with Veronica and she works hard, she has a cat. Betty knows Jughead has a girlfriend, again, and he writes still.
