I started this book after a walk to the park with my then three-year-old son. He ran ahead of me and hid in the bushes as we made our way through the car park and that small moment of panic not knowing where he was, has in fact given way to an epic story of just how far a mother would go to find her missing child. We joked with eachother, Samuel and I as we played that afternoon, pretending that goblins would kidnap him in the bushes. As I am both a parent and a writer, sometimes I see opportunities in my life to live out the fantasies in my mind and have some fun with my kids while I do it. I'm also a passionate community services worker, an avid reader and this journey to becoming a published author and bringing my book babies to life is indescribably fulfilling. Fantasy, horror, and science fiction are my favorite genres to read. They are also my favorite to write. I've enjoyed writing since I won my first writing contest in the fourth grade. That was over twenty-five years ago and I haven't shared a sinlge word of it. Imposter syndrome is a bitch! Well, I finally managed to pull the trigger. Here is "O Negative". It's a mix of all of my favorite genres. I've mixed a fantasy, based on present-day Earth, with plenty of graphic horror and wrapped it all up within a world driven by the technological advancements that only can be obtained from millions of years of civilation. A small group of strangers find themselves surviving in a decimated world. It's bad enough to be stranded in a no-name town, but things become surreal when you realize the vast majority of humanity has died...it becomes terrifying when you realize you aren't that lucky to be alive. "Survivor's Guilt" isn't a thing when you find yourself the sole food source for an entire group of beings that no longer need to hide in the shadows. Man is no longer at the top of the food chain...they are now the cattle.
