This historical fiction novel tells the story of an Idaho family's encounter with a Nez Perce tribal leader and the revealing of a sacred site that lies along the South Fork of the Boise River. The local power company plans to destroy the site by building a dam.  The father in the family works for the power company and finds himself in a crisis of conscience.
