Yesterday when we were playing games and the conversation would drift to family, he would tense up and change the subject, but right now, in this moment, He seems so carefree, not like a boy who's clearly getting over something in his past. He looks at me weirdly, but still smiling "what?" I shrug "nothing, I just like your smile" I tell him and then turn back to my food.
