A year after Nicole disappeared from Chris's life, the man has become someone else, and no one dares bring up the girl he believes is dead.

But nobody knows that. He never told a soul about the night he found her note telling him goodbye.

He seems to be on the brink of insanity until one November night. He sees a girl after one of his shows with Nicole's haunting blue eyes, and when he stops her, there's no denying it is Nicole. When their lives finally intersect once more, it will prove that you can't always escape your past and that some things weren't meant to be left unfinished.

Chris is a good father, and Riley is a happy little girl for the most part. She's still internally hurt from a lot of the pain that Carlie caused, but she trusts Chris to protect her. And Chris DOES protect her. He's very good at protecting her... Until her fourth birthday. Chris walked out of the room for one minute; and when he came back, Riley was gone. After almost eleven years missing, Riley finds a way to return to Pennsylvania after having been tortured day in and day out by the person that kidnapped her. She returns to Chris, bloody and bruised; and all she wants from him is help. Now, Riley and Chris have to adjust to the fact that Riley is back and has endured a lot of pain during her time in captivity. Riley now has to get to know her dad all over again, his girlfriend and his band. She also has to get to know herself and conquer many internal struggles along the way. Will Riley Cerulli be able to rise above all of the challenges she's about to face? Or will she collapse under the weight of the past?

The new year is often seen as a new beginning, a new start. Chris didn't typically see it this way, that was until he met a girl at a New Years Eve party that would come to change his life. Caroline was just like everyone else, she WANTED to be just like everyone else, but there was something about her that made Chris tick, that made him crave her touch, even if it was just her hand in his. Caroline was blind. Only a small percentage of those legally considered blind are COMPLETELY blind, but Caroline fell into that category. Maybe it was Caroline's optimistic outlook on life and the world despite being blind that made Chris fall in love with her. Maybe it was her bravery, her resilience, her independence, her independence - or maybe it was a combination of all of it. All Chris knew was that she was the one for him, and he'd have to do everything in his power to show Caroline that she could trust him and let herself fall in love with him too.
