One Pacific Away

Elissa Hsu, rising SoCal Opera singer just out of grad school, has got to catch a break. With the first auditions of the season coming up and her systems analyst job getting even more demanding, Elissa's super stressed, isn't getting enough sleep, and doesn't even have the time to enjoy her favorite foods. Her way of solving the problem? Jetting off to Taipei for a week of fun, food, and more sleep. Now that's a solution.

Jonathan Liu, aspiring author currently working as a bartender at MYST, a classy bar and lounge in the heart of Taipei, is determined to get his novel published this time. He's got one hundred and thirty-eight rejections under his belt, and he doesn't intend to hit one hundred and thirty-nine. Or forty. But either way, he's still got to cater to Taipei's night life, be it an adventurous society princess or a creepy guy on the street.

When the two meet and fall in love within a single night, it's perfect at first. But when it becomes apparent that it won't last forever, they can only hope that it does.
