"Bema save us if you are to be the next Valkyrie. What do you believe you were doing out there? You nearly had yourself killed, let alone-"
"I am just as good as anyone else in this Éored-"
"You are a danger to yourself and the others more than anyone I have ever met."
"You do not believe that, and we both know it, Lord Éomer."

...
Wilda has been raised since birth to become a shieldmaiden like her mother before her. Hilda, Wilda's mother, was the most famous shieldmaiden in all of Rohan and was known all across Middle Earth for her adventures with Gandalf the Grey and her famous military prowess. Hilda planned to help Wilda achieve greatness, but was unable to finish her training when a battle ended her life and left her daughter an orphan.

But when a letter is sent from Imladris, calling for her to meet with Lord Elrond's council at Gandalf's request- she is forced to put her training to use and step up to become the shieldmaiden she was born to be.

Follow along Wilda's journey as the 10th walker in the fellowship of the ring and watch as she either finally becomes the warrior she was always meant to be or dies trying.

~ work in progress ~ uploading every Sunday ~ "He is known in the Wild as Strider," his father Thranduil had said to him, before Legolas embarked on that journey to the North, seeking the son of Arathorn amongst the Dúnedain. Yet nothing in those words-or in the King's measured tone-had prepared him for the path already carved before him. A path that would not only alter his fate but entwine it with that of a stranger he meets in the shadows of a pub in Bree. Years later, as the War of the Ring fades into legend and the twilight of the Third Age gives way to the dawn of the Fourth, this unfortunate encounter follows the elven prince still. What then began as a diplomatic mission becomes a web of choices and consequences bound by a power older-and perhaps more perilous-than even Sauron's Ring. Alliances will be tested and from the echoes of the Old War new shadows will rise threatening to unravel the peace that was so hardly fought over to be claimed. What will it take to preserve what was won, and who will rise to pay the price when peace begins to fracture? An ongoing tale inspired by the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, this story delves into the untold corners of Middle-Earth-a journey of loyalty, sacrifice, and the unseen forces of fate that shape us all. Join the adventure, and help shape the unfolding tapestry of myth, mystery, and heroism displayed not by heroes but from those who bear its cost. ~ Book 1 out of 4 ~

How did it come to this? Loyal to her family, her lands and her people, Théadain, the illegitimate daughter of Théoden, King of Rohan, has little concern for the world that lies beyond her familiar grasslands. When all that she loves is threatened, she must risk the position she has fought long and hard to earn, plunging herself into a conflict she never sought. As she learns of the rising darkness in far off corners of her world, she begins to realise that her fate may lead her beyond the familiar, and may entwine with the fates of others in ways she could never have foreseen. 'Where now the horse and the rider? Where is the horn that was blowing? They have passed like rain on the mountain. Like wind in the meadow. The days have gone down in the West, behind the hills, into shadow...'
