The story takes place on the new school were virtual singers called "Vocaloid" are going to assist. The companies responsible of creating the voice synthesizer are developing this new engine in which Voclaoids will become more "human" and with that having a normal life.

Gumi soon turns into an addict gamer after living a few months as a artificial human. One day a mysterious girl gives her a videogame that is only compatible with the NeverGear a device that is able to turn Vocaloids into codes and bring them inside the videogame.
