When Adam moves away to Seattle, Brielle finds herself missing him a lot. With a ring that her best friend left behind as a gift and a letter with her name on it somewhere out there, Brielle decides to try and forget about him, and tries to accomplish this by travelling. 
But then someone moves into Adam's house next door to her: August. She seems to run into him almost everywhere she goes, and soon she can't even get August out of her head.
Brielle's secret, odd life is about to be flipped upside down as she faces love and loss in almost every direction. And when she makes Seattle her final destination just to see her best friend again, she wonders whether it will be for the better or for the worst.
