I wrote this one-shot as a sort of challenge on another website. The challenge question was this; 'Were Snape to live during DH, describe how he and Hermione would reunite.' This is what I came up with. Obviously, it is a SS/HG fic, but if you are against the pairing, you could turn it into merely a teacher comforting a frightened, lonely student.

(Y/n) (Y/l/n). A 5th year Hogwarts student. 16 years old. A Gryffindor and a muggle-born. Very kind, very nice, and very very lonely. Severus Snape. A Hogwarts teacher. The Potions Master. His question put an end to her chain of thoughts, prompting her to look down at the still raw wound on her forearm, where Bellatrix's dagger had carved up her flesh to spell out the word- Mudblood. The bandage that she always kept wrapped around her arm to carefully cover the brand had been removed and it was bleeding again. No matter what she did to staunch it, the injury seemed to be a pain in her ass, stubbornly fighting to make it's presence known and now it had somehow taken a worse form. Snape couldn't hide his flinch as his eyes refused to be torn away from the bruise and it was hard to tell whether it was her predicament or the term itself that disturbed him more. "It's killing you." **************************** This story is set post war. Hermione has joined back in Hogwarts to finish her education when she realizes that stress and trauma has caught up to her and now she has to deal with a terminal curse. As she struggles to cope with the disease physically and emotionally, she finds the unlikeliest of persons as her caretaker and companion. #triggerwarning for anyone suffering from terminal diseases or chronic illness. Every life is precious and unique and everyone reacts in different ways to suffering. This story is not meant to be didactic or propound any moral cause. Just random one shots relating to the story I made: Where Your Loyalties Lie - {Severus Snape x Reader} If you haven't read it, go ahead and read (so you are able to enjoy all of the inside jokes etc.)! These one shots are purely just for the laughs and giggles since it's so much fun to play with all of the characters and put them in different, silly situations. In some of the chapters, I'll be bringing some of the characters back to life that sadly passed away during the main story of WYLL. There will be no official rhythm with updates, only at times I feel inspired and want to cause a mess in (Y/N)'s and the Potions Master's lives. I'm already drawing a line I won't take requests, BUT I'm open for suggestions and might sneak some of them in the stories, if they serve the story itself.
