My favorite season is fall, and my favorite reason is falling in love. These ten poems represent the affect nature, love, fall, family, sadness, and loss have had on my life. I have taken the time to do a close reading of my own life, and tried to find buried in those moments, the truest side of the story that is mine. Many things have happened since I ran away from home at seventeen, fourteen years ago, and I have found writing to be the most effective tool for understanding, for myself, what life is actually doing to me, and the person who manifested after all that time. It is tough sometimes to put into words what I feel, I come from a culture that tells us to think instead of feeling, but I like to think that if my heart thinks in ways that my brain cannot understand, than it must be the more powerful of the two. I hope these poems are enjoyed, it has been a really long time since I have written in form. Fall is a reference to the season but as well the idea of falling in love.
