After Luz Tomare's mother is killed, the same way her entire family had, she is sent to Crystal Academy with a journal of her mothers which she left to Luz as her last dying wish. When she is sent to Crystal Academy, a school that Luz had no idea even existed, finds out that crystal beings are real.
