Despite being the catalyst of Tyler Cowley and Lauren Mallory's awkward break up, Theodore Tierney recovers from the incident a lot faster than the other two involved. After all, this isn't the first time he's foiled someone's happiness in the heat of the moment, and it certainly won't be the last.
Some time passes before Theodore is faced with yet another ultimatum; he can either drag his grades out of the gutter before graduation or face another year of being held back. As it happens, he's willing to avoid the latter this time around, enough so that he convinces his teachers to set him up with a tutor. And that tutor is Jasper Hale.
Having to study beside the likes of Venus as a boy is more distracting than it is beneficial, even more so when Jasper seems to want nothing to do with him, for reasons that go beyond Theodore's own comprehension. Which wouldn't be a problem if the latter didn't have a bad habit of wanting those who make themselves unavailable to him.
The irony of it all is that he's more of a danger to Jasper than the blonde is to him, regardless of what loud minority of Forks' supernatural population seem to believe.
