Hidden Beneath the Shadows

A sudden wave of helplessness envelops me as I open my eyes. I have never felt more alone. The roaring sound of the train's engine was comforting but nothing could take away the hollow feeling that I was experiencing. There, looking out the trains' window, it was inevitable to think about the events that had lead me here in the first place.
