Book 1 in the Aftermath series.
War. Villages destroyed. Bodies littering the ground. Shinobi from all the lands lay defeated. Just bodies, no longer the great warriors they once were. No longer people. There was two more before this. Fighting for what? Power? Money? Freedom? None of that matters if no one is left alive to enjoy the aftermath.
Hisakawa Asa is a strange child. Growing up outside the villages she has travelled across all of the nations. When war starts brewing her master decides it's time to return home to Konoha. With her Sensei being kidnapped along the way she arrives in Konoha and is sent to train under Namakaze Minato for the upcoming Jōnin exams. Armed with determination, an undeniable talent for speed and ninjitsu, and newfound friendship she finds herself tossed in a war. People die and boundaries are pushed. This is her story as she deals with the aftermath of battle with a certain silver haired boy by her side.
Set during the Third Great Ninja War.

Sakumo falls in love with a woman from a small, unknown village before she becomes pregnant with a who she names Koya. Shortly after his birth, Sakumo 'dies'. Years later, his home village is attacked and his mother is murdered before he narrowly escapes with his life. He doesn't remember anything about the attack or his life before it. Kiwayo finally escapes. "Somewhere, anywhere is better. I want to be free." Collapsing from exhaustion she is recaptured. By who though? She is taken into the leaf village for questioning. After meeting her the Hokage allows her to be in the ninja academy. The Hokage takes a bet on this little girl will she be an enemy or a great ally? Her only problem isn't just fitting in. Scared and mourning her losses. She meets people the kindness they show her is unknown and comforting compared to her very lonely past. Her adventure begins! I finished the story recently and I left a lot of cliff hangers or gaps in her past and a ending that isn't ideal. If I revise, I will fix that and probably change the end.
