Two's company, three's a crowd, what is four?

Hana Whitethorn witnessed her parent's murder. She is half Japanese and half white child who lived in the foster care due to that incident. She doesn't speak but that doesn't mean she can't. She is adopted at the age of 13 by the seemingly good family, the Goodwin. For the next five years, she is used as a babysitter, a cook, a cleaner, and more. She has been put down constantly and told who she should be. Asian. White. Not both. When she has an opportunity to escape her adopted family, she takes it which leads her to her across the country.

She meets four guys who happens to be friends who have been looking for someone similar to her? Why are they searching for her? Will she find a place and people to call family?
